We set out for your convenience the different options available to you provided both by our company and free on the internet:

Free Cyberspace Email

Link to open these most popular accounts:

• Microsoft (hotmail.co.uk, live.co.uk)

How to use:

Send and receive using your browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc

Advantages and features:

• Lots of storage space from 7.5 GB with Gmail to unlimited with Ymail
• Easy to use format with customisable folders
• Filters to automatically organise incoming messages into specific folders
• Access to email account from anywhere in the world
• Get mail from your other mail boxes
• Auto responses when you’re away
• Contacts list
• Good spam filters
• Calendar for events and reminders
• Synchronise with mobile phone
• Conversation grouping
• Lots more

Disadvantage:

Minimum login requirements to avoid account deletion:

• Google: 9 months
• Yahoo: 4 months
• Microsoft: 120 days

A cyberspace email address as above will suit most people’s needs and can even be used in conjunction with email client software such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird if preferred. Choose from the above 3 plus 14 other options here.

Email using your website’s domain name

You may prefer to have email addresses associated with a domain name, for example:

• book@myhome.co.uk
• john@myname.me.uk

Advantages and features:

• Cosmetically attractive and professional-looking email address
• Multiple email addresses on same domain e.g. book@myhome.co.uk, john@myhome.co.uk
• E-Mail Forwarders: allow you to forward e-mail from yourname@yourdomain.co.uk to your existing or another email address
• SpamAssassin: filters your email and protects you from viruses and unwanted spam
• ClamAV: tool-kit capable of detecting many types of malicious software, including viruses
• Auto Responders: computer programs that automatically answer e-mails sent to you
• Use any email client software e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird. Incredimail etc
• Use your browser and the webmail feature to use the service from our server whilst away from your computer
• Unlike free cyberspace email your account will not be deleted for non-use

Internet Results Ltd can provide such a service and there are several options according to your needs. Choose between 2 types:

POP3 account:

Emails are downloaded from the email server to your computer; they are normally deleted from the server.

Advantages and features:

• Simple to operate
• Inexpensive
• No worries about size of mail box on server whilst you continue to download

Disadvantages:

• Emails downloaded on your computer are inaccessible away from home unless it’s switched on
• In the event of disk failure your emails may be lost if you have not backed up

IMAP account:

Emails may be downloaded from the email server to your computer; they are automatically saved on the server

Advantages and features:

• Allows you to collect/reply to your emails from more than one device: for example your home computer, your smart phone or any computer when away from home
• In the event of hard disk failure on your computer your emails are not lost

Disadvantages:

• More costly unless in conjunction with a free cyberspace account e.g. Gmail

Cost:

These are the elements to be paid for:

• domain name rental: but no extra cost if we’ve already got it for your website
• hosting space: the cost depends on the amount of server storage space you need
• the service: Internet Results Ltd staff help you to set up and resolve issues during the operation of the service

Prices:

Basic service using website's domain:	£20 per annum
Basic service including rental of .co.uk, .me.uk or .org.uk domain:	£25 per annum
Basic service including rental of .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info domain:	£35 per annum

Extra server storage space: Normal emails (without photo and other attachments) are very small – just a few kB (kilobytes) so the standard space of 50 MB (megabytes) allocated for the basic service is enough for over 2000 emails. If you are using the standard POP3 account, and you download your emails, the server storage goes down to zero. You may need to purchase more storage space in these following circumstances:

• You access your POP3 account by webmail and your emails don’t download to your computer
• You use IMAP and don’t delete unwanted email from the server
• People send you attachments when your computer is off (a digital photo could be between 1MB and 5MB)
• You go away for an extended period

Price per 100MB of additional server storage:                                                            £20 per annum

Note you can configure your free Gmail account to empty your POP3 account or to act in tandem using IMAP. You’ll get ample additional storage in this way for free.
